What these schemes of work cover
The Grade 6 Mathematics schemes of work break the year into the three school terms, mapping each CBC strand and sub-strand to specific weeks and lessons. They follow the 2026 curriculum designs from KICD, so the sequencing matches what assessment expects.
How the strands map across the three terms
Term 1 opens with Numbers (place value, whole numbers, and operations), moving into Fractions toward the end of the term. Term 2 covers Measurement — length, area, capacity, mass, money, and time — alongside Geometry. Term 3 consolidates with Data Handling and revision ahead of end-of-year assessment.
Each scheme lists the specific learning outcomes, suggested learning experiences, key inquiry questions, and the resources a teacher needs per lesson, so you can plan a full week at a glance.
What's new for 2026
The 2026 designs tighten the link between sub-strands and the assessment rubrics, and adjust pacing so Measurement gets more weeks in Term 2. If you used a 2024 or 2025 scheme, the strand order is similar but the weekly allocation has shifted.
